About this practice

Care rooted in the rhythms of Aruba

I am an end-of-life doula serving individuals and families across Aruba. My work is grounded in the belief that dying can be met with dignity, truth, and tenderness — not fear.

Whether you are facing a terminal diagnosis, caring for someone who is, or simply want to plan ahead with clarity, I offer a steady companion to walk beside you.

Flexible sessions

Aruba-based

Heart-led care

“The goal of life is not to live forever, but to create something that will.”

My role is to help you discover what that means for you — and to make sure your final chapter is written in your own voice.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Honest answers to the things people most often wonder about before reaching out.

What is an end-of-life doula?

An end-of-life doula is a trained companion who offers non-medical emotional, spiritual, and practical support to individuals and families facing a life-limiting illness, death, or grief. I provide a calm, steady presence so no one has to navigate the end-of-life alone.

Is this the same as hospice or medical care?

No. Hospice and medical teams focus on clinical care, pain management, and treatment decisions. As a doula, I complement that care by focusing on presence, comfort, legacy, planning, rituals, and family support. I do not provide medical advice or treatments.

When is the right time to reach out?

Anytime. Some people call after a terminal diagnosis, others while planning ahead, and others when caring for a loved one or preparing for a vigil. There is no deadline, and no question is too small.

What happens in a first conversation?

We talk about your situation, what you need, and what matters most to you. There is no pressure or obligation. The first conversation is free, and together we decide whether ongoing support feels right.

Are your services only for the person who is dying?

Not at all. I support family members, caregivers, and close friends too. Grief, anticipatory loss, and decision-making can be heavy for everyone, and my role includes helping loved ones navigate those moments.

Can you help with advance care planning or legacy work?

Yes. I can help you think through and document your wishes, write letters to loved ones, record stories, plan a vigil or memorial, and create simple legacy projects. I do not draft legal documents, but I can help you prepare for conversations with lawyers, doctors, or family.

Where do sessions take place?

I meet people in their homes, hospitals, hospice settings, or virtually by phone and video across Aruba. I aim to be wherever you feel most comfortable and supported.

Do you work with doctors, nurses, or hospice teams?

I work alongside medical and hospice teams, never in place of them. With your permission, I can help coordinate communication, clarify your wishes, and ensure your values are heard.

Are our conversations confidential?

Yes. Privacy and trust are fundamental to this work. Your story is held with care, and I only share information with your permission. You can read more in the Privacy Policy.

What languages do you work in?

I offer support in English, Dutch, Papiamento, and Spanish, depending on what feels most comfortable for you and your family.
